Lesson 1: Answers your code can trust

22 min read·13 Oct 2026
Module 6 · Lesson 1 · About 50 minutes · Needs: Module 3 Lesson 3 (schema-enforced output, the Triage fields) and the guard ask from course-guide/02; Module 2 Lesson 1 helps (counting tokens)

The situation

It is Monday 6 July 2026, week 6. Tomasz's router now reads every triage label and puts the ticket in a queue. On Friday one reply began "Sure! Here is the triage:", and the router crashed with forty tickets behind it.

Maya's rule for this week: no reply reaches the router until code has checked it. You will make triage return a typed Triage, check it, repair it, keep what is usable when repair fails, and hand the rest to a person. Ana Duarte's ticket T-1001, a duplicate charge of 288 USD, is the running example.

The rest of this course is yours to keep

This course is bought on its own, once, and stays readable afterwards, including the parts added to it later.
